Everyone knows how to start. A blank page, a fresh notebook, a new idea — nothing feels better than a beginning. The world is full of them. What the world is missing are endings.
The Spark
Every project starts the same way: full of promise. I've launched apps that never shipped, written chapters that never became books, joined gyms in January and quietly vanished by March. New ideas were my addiction.
The Stall
Somewhere in the middle, the excitement fades. The hard part shows up. Life gets loud. And one casual "I'll get back to it tomorrow" becomes a hundred tomorrows — then a thousand.
The Turn
One quiet evening, I wrote down every project I had abandoned. The list was longer than I wanted to admit. And behind all of it sat the same uncomfortable truth: nobody was coming to finish these for me. Only me. Or no one.
Starting feels like progress. But only finishing changes anything.
That evening became a turning point. Not a lightning bolt — just a quiet, unglamorous realization that I had spent years becoming an expert at the first chapter. The excitement. The planning. The beautiful beginnings. But a thing only matters when it's done. A book unread is just paper. An app unfinished is just an idea. A promise unkept is just noise.
So I made a decision, small and a little scary: finish now. Not "someday." Not "when I feel ready." Now. I stopped adding ideas to the pile and started pulling things out of it. The first finish was tiny — a five-minute task I'd avoided for a week. The next was bigger. Then bigger still. And somewhere along the way, I learned the secret nobody tells you: finishing is a skill. Like every skill, it grows with practice.
This site is the result of that decision. A place to stop talking and start doing. A reminder that done beats perfect, and that the person who finishes almost always beats the person who plans. The only thing standing between you and a finished project is the moment you decide to stop starting.
